Thanesar Congress MLA Ashok Arora, Pehowa MLA Mandeep Chatha and Shahabad MLA Ramkaran Kala, along with former MLAs and MPs, were also present at the meeting organised at Punjabi Dharmashala.

The observers called upon party workers to share their opinion without any hesitation and pressure and also to work on the ground level to strengthen the party’s base. After the meeting at the district level, the observers will now hold block-wise meetings to gather feedback from party workers.

Congress leader Pradeep Chaudhary said, “Observers were appointed by the party high command to gather feedback and opinion from the party workers and leaders. In the meeting, sitting and former MLAs and former MPs were present. There was no party organisation for the past 11 years, and with a new hope, the party workers are excited. Rahul Gandhi has given a clear direction to the observers to obtain opinion and feedback from the district and block level.”

Chaudhary said a schedule for the block-level meetings was also prepared in the meeting today. As per the schedule, on June 10, a block-level meeting will be held in Ladwa and then on the same day, a meeting will be held in Babain. On June 12, meetings will be held in Pehowa and Ismailabad blocks; on June 14, a meeting will be held in Shahabad, and then the last meeting will be held on June 15 in Thanesar. Besides these meetings, on June 11, party workers will be able to meet the observers at Congress Bhawan and express their views.

“As per the feedback from party workers, a panel of six names for the district president will be forwarded to the party high command. Rahul Gandhi has given his message to the party leaders and workers in Haryana to work hard for the party and form a strong organisation in the state,” he said.

Meanwhile, Thanesar Congress MLA Ashok Arora said, “The observers had reached Kurukshetra to hold an introductory meeting with party leaders and workers. Now, block-wise meetings will be organised from June 10. After receiving the applications from eligible candidates, a panel of six names will be sent to the party high command.”
