Thought-provoking Opinions, Expert Analysis, In-depth Insights and other Member Only BenefitsLaunching a scathing attack on the BJP-led Haryana government, former Education Minister and Congress MLA Geeta Bhukkal said law and order in the state has “gone from bad to worse,” with criminals operating fearlessly and the government failing to provide citizens with a sense of security.
“Not a single day passes without reports of heinous crimes. The Congress is, therefore, preparing to bring a Kaam Roko proposal on the deteriorating law and order situation during the upcoming monsoon session of the Vidhan Sabha starting August 22. Every section of society is feeling increasingly unsafe due to the surge in criminal activities across the state,” Bhukkal told the media in Jhajjar on Saturday.
She alleged that educational institutions were no longer safe, traders were feeling insecure and gangsters were openly demanding extortion.
“Even National Crime Records Bureau data has shown a sharp rise in crime across the state, which is a major cause of concern. However, instead of taking strict action, CM Nayab Singh Saini — who also holds the Home portfolio — is seen cracking jokes during public appearances,” Bhukkal claimed.
