Rao said the youths had gone abroad seeking a better future but were “forced to return in shackles.” He said, “These children are not symbols of any crime, but victims of unemployment and despair. They risked their families' hopes and hard-earned money, but the BJP government's failed policies have left them in a situation where they have returned to the ashes of their own dreams.”
Calling Haryana’s unemployment rate the highest in India, he asked how long the BJP would “suppress the unemployment epidemic under the arrogance of power.” He demanded a high-level probe, strict action against agents and legal, financial and psychological aid for the affected families.
