The Congress has geared up to regain the Sonepat Lok Sabha seat in the upcoming elections. Leaders have started meetings in the region and are appealing to workers to strengthen the party at the booth level.

Sonepat is considered to be a bastion of the Congress, but in the 2019 elections, former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda was defeated by BJP’s Ramesh Kaushik. The BJP was ahead of the Congress in seven constituencies.

The Congress has now started special campaigns in the district. It has no organisational structure in the state, but it has started reaching out to people, especially the youth by launching ‘Booth Jodo, Youth Jodo’ campaign.
