Member of Parliament Kumari Selja emphasised the need for Congress leaders in the state to work diligently and faithfully for the party. She said some leaders who were not part of the surveys for Lok Sabha elections were given tickets, but for the upcoming Assembly elections, only those who fare well in party surveys and demonstrate dedication would be considered for nomination.

Selja stressed the importance of unity among Congress members to ensure that dedicated workers and leaders are recognised and to achieve collective victory. She was speaking during an interaction with journalists in Narwana today.

On a query regarding the CM face of the party in the state, Selja said the decision rested with the party high command.

Selja acknowledged the natural tendency of multiple leaders seeking ticket from the same seat but said that the Congress candidate should be chosen based on unity displayed by all leaders, emphasising that those who put the party above personal interests were true, dedicated leaders.

On the question of whether the Congress would contest elections alone or in an alliance, Selja expressed confidence that the party would contest independently, aligning with public expectations.

Earlier, she expressed condolences to the family of Commando Pradeep Nain, who was recently martyred.

On matters of national security, Selja urged the government to address the ongoing unrest in various states. She criticised the government for its alleged failure to effectively handle law and order issues, noting an increase in criminal activities in Haryana.
