Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar celebrated the ‘pran prathishta’ ceremony at Ram Temple in Ayodhya, with residents of Karnal district at Shri Karneshwar Mahadev Temple in Sector 7, here, today. The CM also watched the live telecast of the consecration ceremony performed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. People immersed in an atmosphere of jubilation and were seen chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ throughout the ceremony.

While describing the moment, CM Khattar got emotional and said the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony moved him deeply and the joy derived from this occasion extended beyond the borders.

He termed it as the commencement of a new era and said the promise to build a temple in Ayodhya had been fulfilled.

“We used to affirm our commitment to Lord Rama, vowing to build the temple there. As descendants of Lord Rama, we have fulfilled that promise, and today, a new dawn has emerged,” said the CM, while addressing a gathering.

He extended congratulations to the people of Haryana as well as the citizens of the country. Adding a personal touch to the event, he also sang the lines of Ram Bhajan.

The CM also distributed grants among gaushalas in Karnal district, including Rs Rs 2.10 lakh to Akhara Baba Sahib Giri Gau Chikitsa, Rs 6.72 lakh to Shri Krishna Kripa Gaushala and Rs 9.3 lakh to Shri Radhakrishna Gaushala.

Religious fervour griped the district as devotees organised several programmes to celebrate the occasion. Temples and markets were decked up with lights.
