Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora and Mayor Suman Bahamani recently inaugurated the project by breaking coconuts. Arora directed officials of the MC to pay special attention to the quality of development works, and to complete the work before the monsoons.

He said the government was doing better work under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini in the state.

“A network of roads is being laid in the country and the state. The government is getting developmental works done equally and without any discrimination. Development works worth crores of rupees have been undertaken in the twin cities through the municipal corporation. Streets, roads and drains are being constructed in every ward,” Arora added.

Mayor Suman Bahamani said a big drain would be constructed from Bikaner Mishthan Bhandar to Deepu Wali Gali in Tilak Nagar. About Rs 15.36 lakh would be spent on the construction of this drain, she added.

“The construction of this drain will provide relief from the problem of waterlogging in Tilak Nagar. This problem was a cause of trouble for the residents of this colony,” Bahamani said.

The MC would also construct drains from Workshop Road to the Krishna Colony petrol pump at a cost of Rs 11.16 lakh, she added.

“Development works worth crores of rupees are to be done in twin cities. MC officials have prepared their estimates and have initiated the tender process,” Bahamani said.

People should cooperate in getting developmental works done in their areas, she added.

“If there is any compromise with the quality, inform us immediately. No compromise will be made with the quality in developmental works,” Bahamani said.
