Construction of roads begins in Karnal

The projects include a road from Dalel Singh Dera to Zarifa Viran

Indri MLA Ram Kumar Kashyap, along with Karnal Mayor Renu Bala Gupta, jointly inaugurated road construction works at Dholgarh village, which falls in Ward 20 of the Karnal Municipal Corporation, on Thursday. The projects include a road from Dalel Singh Dera to Zarifa Viran at a cost of around Rs 49.16 lakh, and another road from Vinod Kumar dera to Dholgarh, costing around Rs 49.97 lakh.

Kashyap stated that the construction of these new roads would significantly improve traffic flow in the area. He emphasised that farmers would now be able to transport their produce to markets more easily, leading to economic benefits and improved livelihoods. He also pointed out that better roads would ensure quicker access for emergency services, which was vital for the overall development.

Gupta said that these road projects were a significant step towards the development of the area. Improved connectivity will not only ease transportation but also enhance quality of life for local citizens.

On the occasion of World Environment Day, both MLA Kashyap and Mayor Gupta also took part in a plantation drive under the campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, promoting environmental conservation. They urged the public to participate in the initiative by planting a sapling in their mother’s name and taking full responsibility for its care.

Earlier, Nilokheri MLA Bhagwan Das Kabirpanthi and Gupta jointly inaugurated a newly constructed community centre at Jhanjhari village. The cost of the centre was Rs 40 lakh.

Kabirpanthi said that the community centre would serve as a multipurpose facility for both Jhajhari and neighbouring villages. He highlighted that the centre would offer an ideal space for social gatherings, community meetings and various local activities, which further strengthen social unity and harmony.

Gupta reiterated the MC’s commitment to equal development of both urban and rural areas. She emphasized that such community centres not only offered basic infrastructure but also helped preserve and promote local culture and traditions. Both MLA and Mayor also planted saplings.
