A police constable posted as gunman with the Jind DSP today hit his wife with a stick, leading to her death, in the Housing Board Colony here.

The accused, identified as Vikram, hailing from Dewas village in Bhiwani district, was residing in rented accommodation here. The cop returned home drunk last night, leading to an argument.

The police said the couple had a scuffle this morning, after which Vikram hit his wife with a stick.

She suffered injuries, leading to her death on the spot. The couple got married five years ago.

A police spokesperson said the accused informed his in-laws and called the police. The police arrested the cop from his house. — TNS
