According to the complaint filed by Sahabuddin, father of the children and a resident of Utawad village, his sons Ayan (11), Ahsan (9) and Arjan (7) studied at Gariba Public School in Utawad. On Monday, after school, they were crossing the road when the car hit them. Ayan and Ahsan died on the spot while Arjan was seriously injured and referred from Nalhar Medical College, Nuh, to the PGIMS, Rohtak.

According to eyewitnesses, the accused attempted to flee, but the villagers chased the car and stopped him about 500 metres from the accident spot. They then informed the police.

People alleged that the accused was driving in a drunken state and was arguing with them, showing off his uniform.
