Earlier, the representatives of both organisations assembled in the grain market to express anguish over the Bills.

AIKS acting state secretary Sumit and HSAAA vice-president Harsh Girdhar said Agriculture Produce Market Committee Act (APMCA) was the lifeline of farmers of Punjab, Haryana and other states and this would not be allowed to be abandoned at any cost. AIKS district president Preet Singh also decried the BJP government, stating that the Bills were anti-farmer and would push them on the path of devastation.
