Cops briefed about cashless scheme for accident victims

In a meeting held at the Police Lines administrative building on Friday, Superintendent of Police Vikrant Bhushan informed officers about the Haryana Police’s initiative aimed at aiding road accident victims.

The scheme provides cashless treatment of up to Rs 1.5 lakh to injured individuals, available if the police report is filed within 24 hours of the accident. Bhushan explained that the initiative is part of the Centre’s response to rising road accidents. Under this plan, the hospitals listed in the government panel will upload data of accident victims to their software and the police will verify the details within six hours. If confirmed, the injured person will receive immediate treatment.

He also emphasised the importance of the “golden hour” after an accident, stating that getting the victim to a hospital quickly could save his/her life. Additionally, Bhushan directed all police station heads to increase public awareness of traffic rules and to ensure proper warning signs are placed in accident-prone areas.

As part of the plan, 15 private hospitals in Sirsa, including DMC Hospital, Care Hospital, Paras Hospital, Gill Hospital, Neeraj Hospital, Shah Satnam Ji Speciality Hospitals, City Health Hospital, Surkasha Hospital, Hope Neuro Care, Civil Hospital, Sanjeevani Hospital, Chaudhary Orthopedics and others are included in the panel to provide timely treatment and save lives.
