Additional Superintendent of Police Amrinder Singh today inspected the Kanwar Yatra route at several places in Yamunanagar district and issued necessary instructions to the police personnel on duty to ensure a safe and smooth conduct of the yatra.

The ASP inspected the camps (shivirs) set up by social and religious organisations for ‘kanwariyas’. He also inspected the Yamuna river and surrounding areas.

“The ‘kanwariyas’ should not face any kind of problem during the yatra. The police personnel and officers have been asked to perform their duty with devotion and dedication,” said ASP Amrinder Singh.

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Surinder Singh Bhoria said adequate arrangements had been made by the district police for a peaceful conduct of the yatra.

He said police personnel in large numbers had been deployed on the yatra route and patrolling was being carried out continuously.

The SP gave issued instructions to ambulance and fire brigade personnel to remain alert. He added that the traffic police personnel had been instructed that there should be no traffic jam during the ‘padyatra’ of the ‘kanwariyas’.

He also inspected the camps set up for the Kanwar Yatra and gave guidelines for cleanliness to the camp operators. The SP ordered all SHOs to carry out patrolling in respective areas.
