Led by the national president of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC), Uday Bhanu Chib, the workers took out a protest march and reached the barricades installed by the police near the CM’s residence. The district police had made heavy deployment to maintain law and order.

The workers raised slogans against the BJP and accused it of stealing votes to form the government in the state. As the protesters tried to cross the barricades, the police resorted to a water cannon to push them back.

Chib said, “Rahul Gandhi has proven how votes were stolen in Haryana. The BJP government in Haryana has rendered the youth unemployed and youngsters are being pushed into drug addiction. Due to unemployment, youth are migrating to other countries. During the demonstration, a water cannon was used and there was heavy police deployment.”

He said the Youth Congress workers would not be intimidated by such actions and the party had pledged to protect the Constitution and democracy.

“We must fight against the BJP, which is trying to destroy the Constitution. The BJP thinks it will form the government by stealing votes, but Rahul Gandhi has exposed their theft. Congress workers will work at the booth level to stop this theft,” he added.

He also raised questions over the appointment of Gyanesh Kumar as the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and accused him of working as the Prime Minister’s personal assistant.
