Rohtak, August 14

The Rohtak police have arrested a couple and their aunt in a honeytrap case.

In a police complaint, a manager at the HDFC Bank’s health insurance department alleged that his friend Rohit Saini owed him around Rs 80,000 and called him to collect the money recently.

“However, Saini, accompanied by his wife Naina and her aunt Manisha, compelled me to take them to Karnal. We stayed at a hotel, where Manisha forced herself upon me. This was repeated even after we returned to Rohtak. Later, the trio got a rape case registered against me at the women’s police station. Saini then demanded Rs 10 lakh from me for withdrawing the case,” the complainant said.

The police have registered a case against Saini and arrested him while taking the money for the withdrawal of the case. Naina and Manisha have also been arrested.

Inspector Rakesh Kumar, Arya Nagar SHO, said the accused were produced in a local court, which sent them to judicial custody.
