A couple were found unconscious on the road leading to their fields in Jhholari village here on Sunday. They were taken to a hospital in Kanina.

The woman, identified as Neetu, died during treatment. The condition of the man, identified as Pradeep, was stated to be critical.

The police suspected that the duo had consumed some poisonous substance and fell unconscious. Investigation was underway to ascertain the reason behind the incident.
