Couple held for blackmailing
In a blackmailing case, the Ding police arrested a man and wife with Rs 1 lakh on Friday. The arrested couple, identified as Manoj Kumar and his wife Kiran, residents of Mandi Adampur, Hisar, were caught attempting to extort money from a man named Rajbir.
According to the Ding police station In-charge, Sub-Inspector Bhim Singh, the case began when Pushpa, a resident of Rupana Bishnoi, rented a house in Preet Nagar, Sirsa. Pushpa filed a complaint, stating that her husband, Rajbir, was initially contacted by Kiran, who was introduced to him by an acquaintance.
A case has been registered against Kiran and Manoj under Section 308(2)(6) of the BNS and further investigation is underway.
