Cyber fraudster arrested in Sirsa

The Cyber Crime Police Station's special team has arrested a key suspect involved in a major online fraud case in which a man was cheated of Rs 22.9 lakh. The fraud was carried out through Telegram Application, where the victim, Lovepreet Singh from Santnagar, was promised huge profits from stock market investments.The arrested suspect, identified as Vinay from Panipat, was caught by the police in the Samalkha area of Panipat. During the arrest, the police recovered Rs 25,000 of the defrauded money and a mobile phone used in the crime.
According to Superintendent of Police Vikrant Bhushan, the fraud case was registered on December 16 after the victim filed a complaint. The Cyber Crime team worked diligently to trace the suspect gathering important leads, eventually arresting him.

The investigation is going on and the police have assured that further legal action would be taken against anyone else involved in the scam. The arrested suspect was presented in court and sent to judicial custody.
