The Gurugram cyber police arrested a cyber fraudster who allegedly used to cheat people in the name of recovering loans taken through Chinese loan apps by threatening them. A mobile phone with a SIM card was recovered from his possession.

According to the police, the accused was identified as Deepak Yadav, a resident of Palhawas village in Rewari district. The team of cybercrime East police station arrested the accused on Friday night.

“During police interrogation, it was revealed that the accused used to get the names and mobile numbers of people through the Telegram app to recover the loan taken from Chinese apps. After this, he used to call them through different mobile numbers, threatening them and taking the loan amount. In return, the accused used to get commission from cyber thugs. After getting the money, the accused used to block the mobile numbers of the victims. We are questioning the accused,” said Priyanshu Dewan, ACP cyber.
