Babbu from the Cybercrime Branch of the Police Department apprised participants of various types of cybercrimes, including hacking, duplicate websites and using social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and YouTube to lure victims through fake ads and scams. He emphasised the importance of securing accounts on these platforms and warned about common frauds such as part-time job scams and phishing attacks through which fraudsters drain bank accounts.

Legal Aid Defence Counsels (LADC) Chief Meera Garwa and Assistant Devendra Kaur shared examples of cybercrime cases and informed students about legal assistance available through the NALSA helpline (15100).

Singla also warned about scams where fraudsters pose as friends or relatives, sending fake credit messages to trick victims into returning money they never received. He urged everyone to raise awareness about cybercrime among family, friends and neighbours.

Dr Gurdeep from Lala Hansraj Phutela College was also present at the workshop.
