On this occasion, Kailash Saini, in-charge of the CM Office in Kurukshetra, said the construction work of an international-level velodrome in Kurukshetra would begin soon. “The state government has been undertaking various initiatives for sportspersons, and due to its efforts, Haryana is now called the ‘nursery of sports’. Players of the state have brought glory to India at the international level — whether in the Olympics, Asian Games, or Commonwealth Games. Haryana gives the highest cash awards to medal-winning players. The efforts being made by the government have been yielding positive results, and the performance of the players has been improving gradually,” he added.
