The state government has deputed Vijay Singh Dahiya, Commissioner and Secretary of the Printing and Stationery Department and Animal Husbandry Department, as incharge of Ambala district, in addition to his current duties. An order to this effect was issued by the Chief Secretary.

Dahiya will review projects worth Rs 25 crore and above, overall crime and heinous crime incidents, and vigilance matters concerning clearances under Sections 17A and 19 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Additionally, he will assess the efficacy and functioning of the service delivery mechanism, as well as the parameters of functioning in the health, education, and social sectors.

He will also address the challenges faced by the Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner regarding taxes, GST, etc, and interact with MLAs and other public representatives in the presence of DCs and SPs.
