Executive Engineer of the MCH, Jaibir Dudi, said that a tender worth Rs 34.61 crore has been floated for the development of the complex. The layout for the new dairy complex has already been finalised, he informed.

The complex will include 342 animal dairies and will feature eight plots of 1,000 square yards, 27 plots of 500 square yards, 68 plots of 350 square yards and 239 plots of 250 square yards. Besides, 16 shops, each measuring 9x15 feet, will be constructed. The complex will also house a milk-chilling plant over 1,170 square yards, a biogas plant over 5,360 square yards and a water works facility over 3,688 square yards.

The project includes the construction of roads, parks, boundary walls, sewerage systems, toilets, pond, gym, solar panels, an animal hospital, gates, storm water lines and water works.

Officials said that the shifting of dairies outside the town was expected to bring down pollution and the incidence of sewer blockages in residential areas, which had become a major issue now.

The move will also reduce the risk of accidents related to animal movement within the town. Hisar Mayor Praveen Popli said that it is a major urban development project and would be implemented very soon. Commissioner Neeraj said that the tender has been floated and the work on the complex is expected to begin soon.
