Chandigarh, May 26

Former Congress minister Karan Dalal today demanded that an independent inquiry commission be constituted to probe, what he termed as, the “failure” of the state government in containing Covid.

“Media reports have quoted medical experts as saying that the use industrial oxygen for medical purpose could be a major cause for the rise in black fungus cases in the state. Industrial oxygen is unhygienic,” he said.

In a complaint submitted to Haryana Governor, Dalal said, “The second wave of Covid has lifted the lid off the hollow claims of the government, which had claimed that the situation was under control. The truth is there is a shortage of medicines, beds, ventilators and oxygen, resulting in hoarding and black-marketing of essential supplies.”
