The Deputy Director of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Dr Rajbir Singh, said here today that those whose licences had been suspended were Ashoka Seed Store (Narnaund), Bhole Fertiliser Seed Store (Hisar), Pannu Fertiliser Seed Store (Bas), Baba Lal Das Seed Store (Hansi), Chaudhary Krishi Bhandar (Hansi) and Kandal Agriculture Store (Petwar).

He said the fertilisers of the dealers did not match the details in the point of sale (POS) for updation of stock details. Their licences had been suspended from November 21 to December 4. “During this time, they would not be able to sell fertilisers,” he said.

A dealer was required to enter details of the farmer's Aadhaar number in the POS machine and also get the farmer's thumb impression. However, the accused dealers gave the fertilisers to the farmer without completing the process. As a result, the physical stock became zero, but the stock reflected in the POS, disrupting the demand and supply system, he said.

“It becomes difficult to find out which dealer has fertiliser and who does not have the stock,” he said. If fertiliser sellers did not match the physical stock and POS properly, action would be taken in future, too, he warned.
