Days after encounter, criminal Romil Vohra cremated in Yamunanagar

Romil Vohra, who was encountered in a joint operation of the STF, Haryana, and Counter Intelligence Special Cell of Delhi, near the Haryana-Delhi border on Tuesday, was cremated in Yamunanagar on Friday.

Romil was one of the shooters involved in the murder case of wine contractor Shantanu, who was killed in Shahabad. Three days after the encounter, the cremation was conducted on Friday in the presence of a few family members and police personnel.

Romil’s father Kapil Vohra, who performed the last rites, said “We have lost everything and we are facing criminal cases because of this. Romil left home on November 22 to attend college and never returned.” Romil’s mother said, “No child should get attracted towards the world of crime and join any gang.”

Meanwhile, Yamunanagar SP Surinder Singh Bhoria said, “We have appealed to the youngsters to stay away from criminal activities and the criminals abroad.”
