DC inspects Chhachhrauli, Vyaspur grain markets in Yamunanagar district

He spoke to farmers and commission agents and also checked the moisture content of the paddy.
He said in the interest of farmers, the state government had started paddy procurement from September 22, instead of October 1, and paddy procurement had begun in all grain markets of the district. He said 41 metric tonne of paddy was procured at the Radaur grain market on September 22.He said paddy was being procured by HAFED, warehouses and food supply agencies in the district.
“This year, a target has been set to procure about 6 lakh MT of paddy in the district’s grain markets,” said Gupta.
He said the government had fixed the price of Grade-A paddy at Rs 2,389 per quintal and Common Grade paddy at Rs 2,369 per quintal.
He stated that all necessary arrangements were made before the purchase of paddy in all 13 grain markets of the district.
He inquired from the department officials concerned present at the grain markets about the facilities like electricity, clean water and toilets. He appealed to the farmers to bring their paddy crop to the grain markets only after drying it so that they could get a fair price for their crop at the right time.
On this occasion, SDM of Chhachhrauli Rohit Kumar, SDM of Vyaspur Jaspal Singh Gill, DFSC Jatin Mittal, secretary of Market Committee Chhachhrauli Rishi Raj Yadav, DM of HAFED Sheeshpal Gauri, district bjp media incharge Kapil Manish Garg, officials of Arhatiya Association Chhachhrauli and Vyaspur along with officials of other paddy purchasing agencies, arhatiyas and farmers were present.
