Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar Yadav on Wednesday conducted surprise inspections of drains passing through the district, reviewing cleaning work of the drains.

During inspections, the Deputy Commissioner directed Irrigation Department officials to expedite the ongoing cleaning of drains and water channels, ensuring that the cleaning work was completed before June 15. Yadav said no laxity would be tolerated in this regard.

During the inspection, Yadav first checked the east and west Jua drains and instructed officials to immediately remove illegal encroachments on 40 acres adjoining the minor canal in Jua.

He also directed the Sarpanch to clean the cremation ground next to the drain and to plant trees there.

After that, the DC inspected Drain 8, which passes through Gohana city, and instructed Irrigation Department officials to issue a notice to the municipal council regarding garbage accumulation there.
