Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta inspected the sewage treatment plant (STP), situated at Jammu Colony in Yamunanagar on Wednesday.

He said the STP had a capacity of 47 MLD per day and it was used to treat sewage of Yamunanagar city.

He directed officials to expand the capacity of the STP in future, so that more sewage water could be treated.

He instructed the officials to keep checking the treatment plant from time to time.

“The sewage lines of the city should not be blocked during the rainy season, so that the residents of the twin cities Yamuanagar and Jagadhri does not have to face any kind of problem. The officials of the departments concerned should ensure checking of the STPs regularly,” said Gupta.

He instructed the officials of public health, municipal corporation and PWD departments to work in coordination.

He also planted a sapling on the premises of the STP in Jammu Colony.

On the occasion, Executive Engineer Dinesh Gaba, Executive Engineer Puneet Mittal, DIPRO Dr Manoj Kumar, Executive Engineer of Municipal Corporation Narender Suhag, Junior Engineer Gautam Sharma, SDO Kunwar Sunny Singh and other officers were present.
