DC seeks action against Raheja developers
The Gurugram administration has taken a stern stance against Raheja developers for failing to pay for the structural audits of two of their ‘unsafe’ societies, recommending that the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) take action. District Commissioner (DC) Ajay Kumar has urged that no further permits be granted to the builder until they settle outstanding dues for technical testing.
The issue dates back to 2022, when Raheja Vedanta in Sector 108 and Raheja Atharva in Sector 109 were declared unsafe, prompting a structural audit request from the local Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA).
Following a visual audit that identified structural concerns, the builder was required to fund the second phase of the audit. However, despite repeated reminders, the builder has not paid the requested amounts—Rs 56.87 lakh for Raheja Vedanta and Rs 20.41 lakh for Raheja Atharva—since then.
In a December 2024 meeting, Raheja representatives sought 20 more days to clear the dues, but no action has been taken as of yet. The DC’s letter calls for immediate intervention by the DTCP.
