Hisar, March 1
Congress leader and former Rohtak MP Deepender Singh Hooda today lashed out at the Centre and the Delhi Government for riots in the national capital.
He demanded that a fair inquiry should be conducted to fix accountability for the violence.
Interacting with mediapersons at Julana in Jind district, Deepender stated that similar kind of riots were perpetrated in Haryana in 2016 and the inquiry by Prakash Singh Committee exposed the BJP government’s failure to maintain peace.
“The BJP government was accountable for the loss of lives and property in Haryana. Both the BJP and Delhi’s AAP government are responsible for the Delhi riots,” he alleged.
Deepender stated that they had been demanding action as per the inquiry report of Prakash Singh Committee, but the BJP government had put the report in cold storage.
Taking a dig at the JJP, the former MP said that it was not ‘samarthan’ (support), but ‘samarpan’ (surrender) of the JJP before the BJP.
The BJP-led government had dumped the manifesto of the JJP as none of its pre-poll promises were being considered. He said the fiscal health of the state had gone from bad to worse as the state was under huge debt of Rs 1,98,700 crore.
“When the Congress went out of power in 2014, the state had a debt of Rs 61,000 crore. It had now gone up three times in six years. No big project like power plant, railway track etc has been introduced in the state during this period. It is beyond comprehension as to where the money is being drained,” he said.
Sonepat: Former MP Deepender Singh Hooda on Sunday alleged that sports and sportspersons had suffered during five-year rule of the BJP as none of the medal winners at national and international events were given employment.
He was interacting with mediapersons during a national-style kabaddi programme at Bhawar village in the district.
