The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri, has intensified its efforts to motivate residents to deposit their property tax at a rebate of 15 per cent. The MC authorities are urging residents to undertake the self-certification work of the property IDs to avail of the benefit of the rebate on the house tax till September 30.

“We are appealing to residents living in the areas falling under the jurisdiction of the MC of Yamunanagar-Jagadhri to deposit their property tax. A discount of 15 per cent will be given on depositing tax by September 30 and the interest will be completely waived on the principal amount,” said Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha.

He said the property holders would have to undertake the self-certification work of their property IDs on the NDC portal to avail themselves of the benefit of this scheme.

“As per a notification issued by the state government, owners of properties in urban areas will get the discount on the principal amount if they jointly deposit the outstanding property tax from 2010-11 to 2023-24. Apart from this, the entire interest on property tax will be waived. If a property holder fails to self-certify his property ID on the portal, he will not get the benefit,” he added.

He said property holders could also get their IDs certified by visiting the Citizen Suvidha Kendras located at the MC offices.
