The examinations were conducted in two sessions — morning and evening amid tight security arrangements and the process remained peaceful throughout the day. The candidates were allowed entry only after proper verification, checking, and frisking at the examination centres.
In Karnal, in the morning session, the Level-2 (TGT) exam was held at 22 centres, where 5,956 out of 6,729 registered candidates appeared, while 773 candidates remained absent. In the evening session, the Level-1 (PRT) exam was conducted at nine centres, where 2,154 out of 2,562 candidates appeared while 408 candidates were absent.
In Kaithal district, the Level-2 (TGT) exam was held at 25 centres, where 6,855 out of 7,538 registered candidates appeared, while 683 candidates were absent. Similarly, the Level-1 (PRT) exam was conducted at eight centres, where 2,052 out of 2,364 candidates appeared and 312 were absent.
As part of a multi-layered security protocol, the candidates underwent three levels of verification before entering the centres in both the districts –initial screening with metal detectors, followed by biometric verification and finally document verification. The entire examination process was videographed for transparency.
Karnal Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh confirmed that the examinations were held in a smooth and orderly manner, without any untoward incidents. He said adequate arrangements were made at all centres to ensure the candidates faced no inconvenience.
“Facilities such as uninterrupted power supply, drinking water and clean washrooms were made available to all candidates. The administration ensured a conducive environment for the smooth conduct of the examinations,” he added.
Kaithal DC Preeti said the HTET was conducted peacefully and smoothly. “All arrangements were in place to ensure a transparent, fair, and cheating-free examination,” she added. She said the entire district administration remained on high alert throughout the day. Adequate police force was deployed at all examination centres to maintain law and order.
She said flying squads conducted intensive inspections and the duty magistrates appointed at the centres checked the arrangements, including mobile signal jammers, CCTV surveillance and biometric verification systems.
