Union Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday directed Deputy Commissioner Virender Kumar Dahiya to develop a ‘Sanjha Bazaar’ in Panipat for self-help groups to sell their products.

Khattar was chairing the first quarter meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) of the financial year 2025-26 in the Mini Secretariat.

He said the purpose of a welfare state was also to deliver benefits to the poor and needy. “It is our duty to make every scheme of the government successful, and the schemes which have no work should be closed. The benefits of the welfare schemes should reach every eligible person,” he said.

Khattar also reviewed the progress of the schemes and development works in the district.
