As he announced his plans to join the Congress, reports went viral of yet another BJP member parting ways from the party following which Mittal released a video statement.

“I was never a BJP member or leader. I am a sanatani and want to serve Sanatan. It is possible to serve 'Sanatan Dharma' from anywhere. A friend of mine called me today morning and I told him about my wish to join Congress. I don't want any particular party to talk about ‘Sanatan’. I want every party to do that. There’s no clash between me and BJP,” Mittal said in a video message posted on X.
