Dial 112 services by Dec

Home Minister Anil Vij said the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) Dial 112 service will be completed in the state by December 30 this year.

“For every distress call received on this number, once it is operational, the police and other services will be available in any area of the state within a span of 15 in cities and 20 minutes in villages,” said Vij.

He said for the smooth functioning of the system, a new building had been constructed at a cost of about Rs 40 crore and C-DAC had been given a work order of about Rs 152 crore. In all 630 new Innova vehicles worth about Rs 94 crore are being purchased under this high-tech project of the Haryana Police.

For this, about 4,700 employees will be engaged, who will provide effective services to the citizens on time. Expressing satisfaction over the progress of Dial 112, the Home Minister said experts of four languages, including Hindi, English, Punjabi and Haryanavi, would be deputed at the call centre. The process will be backed up at the DGP office and the entire data will also be safe in C-DAC Hyderabad while a “mirror office” will be set up in Gurugram.
