District and Sessions Judge Dinesh Kumar Mittal, in an order on February 27, stated that DSP Nayab Singh appeared in the court in pursuance of a non-bailable warrant issued against him.

During the appearance, the court asked him why he had not appeared in the court on previous dates, despite service of summons and warrants. Upon that he got agitated and started speaking loudly in the open court, saying that “Bigaad lo mera jo bigaad sakte ho”.

“This conduct of DSP Nayab Singh amounts to contemptuous behaviour of gravest nature towards the court,” the judge stated. Four show-cause notices have been served on him.
