According to the official order, open-field burning of paddy residue poses a serious threat to public health, releasing high levels of pollution laced with toxic elements that are harmful to humans, animals and the environment. To prevent such pollution and to protect the well-being of residents and those suffering with lung disease, the district administration has enforced the ban with immediate effect.
