He said the double engine in Haryana has proved to be a complete failure.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi today, Hooda compared the report cards of the BJP and the Congress in the field of health, education, employment, agriculture, electricity, Dalit backwards, women, etc. He said the Congress government had built one new health university, six new medical colleges, AIIMS-2 and the National Cancer Institute at Badhsa. “However, in 11 years, this government has not build a single medical college or university in the state, nor has the work of AIIMS, Manethi, been taken forward,” he pointed out.
In the field of education, he said, the Congress government built Central University, Mahendragarh, 12 new universities, 154 new polytechnic colleges, 56 new ITI and four new engineering colleges, besides Rajiv Gandhi Education Society, Sonepat. Also, he claimed, the Congress gave more than two lakh jobs in its nine and a half years of tenure.
“During the BJP government, more than 30 papers were leaked," he alleged, adding that as per the Government of India, Haryana had the highest unemployment rate in the country. “The unemployed have been forced to emigrate to foreign countries through the 'Dunki' route. After the implementation of Agnipath Yojana, only 900 Agniveers are being recruited from Haryana now, instead of 5,500 permanent soldiers."
Talking about the SC and poor welfare, Hooda said the Congress government gave free plots of 100 yards to four lakh families. “Haryana gave the highest MNREGA wages in the country during the Congress regime," he claimed.
“The BJP government did not give an inch of land to SC and poor families," he asserted. Referring to the agriculture sector, Hooda said the Congress government waived electricity bills of Rs 1,600 crore and loans of Rs 2,200 crore of farmers. “Crop loan was provided to farmers at zero interest".
"However, the biggest farmer movement in history happened during the BJP tenure. As many as 750 farmers were killed. The BJP, however, has made Haryana the number one state in the country in terms of crimes against women," said.
Referring to the Central Government, Hooda said the BJP could neither handle Manipur nor the foreign policy. “This government proved to be a failure on every front,” he added.
