Dr Rajesh Sobti, the Director of Physical Education and Sports at Kurukshetra University, has been nominated by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi to serve as the head of a delegation for the Indian Universities Archery and Basketball teams.

The teams will be competing in the second Asian University Archery Championship and the seventh Asian University Basketball Championship, scheduled to be held from August 30 to September 7, in Taipei City, Taiwan.

Dr Sobti said the Asian University Archery Championship and Asian University Basketball Championship were prestigious events that brought together top university teams from across Asia. These events showcased exceptional talent and competitive spirit in both sports. This year’s tournaments were expected to be competitive with the universities from various countries striving for excellence and honours in these challenging arenas.

He said, “I am thankful to the AIU for this nomination. I am confident that the Indian teams participating in these tournaments in Taipei will perform exceptionally well and bring home medals, further enhancing India’s reputation in international university sports.”
