This decision was taken during the second Board of Directors meeting of DRIISHYA chaired by CM Manohar Lal Khattar in Chandigarh today.

The CM was apprised that Haryana was the first state to create a separate Corporation to foster the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) driven governance applications. “This is a unique beginning. With the help of drones, illegal encroachments can be controlled as detecting area expansion will be facilitated. Earlier, manual surveys were done at regular intervals but were time consuming, costly and required more manpower,” said the CM.

Directing the officers concerned to ensure quick disposal of various types of surveys and imaging work, the CM said besides the Revenue Department, drones should also be used in other departments as it would help in mapping, land records, disaster management, emergency services and development planning in urban areas.
