According to the local police, the victim, a daily wage labourer, had travelled to Gadarana to visit his grandmother. His body was discovered near the village waterworks, with a syringe, water bottle and a mobile phone lying nearby. He was the only son in the family and had lost his father and grandfather. His mother resides in Kalanwali, while his grandmother lives in Gadarana.

The residents alerted the police after finding the body. The Kalanwali police quickly reached the scene and began an investigation. Villagers claimed the deceased had a history of drug addiction and alerted that drug use in the area was rising sharply. They say at least four to five similar deaths have occurred in the village over the past two years. Dabwali SP Nikita Khattar confirmed they received the report through social media.“The SHO is present on-site. Strict action will be taken,” she said. Khattar added that efforts are ongoing to curb drug distribution, including sealing medical stores found supplying illegal substances.
