Inspector Vivek Malik, who is the incharge of Bahadurgarh CIA-II, said the suspects, identified as Sombir, Sukhbir of Panihar village in Hisar district and Jai Prakash of Garanpur village in Bhiwani, used to bring the drugs from Odisha and Andhra Pradesh for the sale in Hisar and Fatehabad area.

“In the past, Jai Prakash was arrested on the charge of carrying opium and a case in this regard was registered against him at the City police Station in Fatehabad district. Sombir is the kingpin of the racket, who was taken on remand. It is expected that more vital information about other members of the racket will come out,” he said.

Inspector Vivek said his team was patrolling on the Rohtak road when it received a tip-off about smuggling of drugs in a car.

He said the suspects were produced in a local court on Friday, which sent Jai Prakash and Sukhbir to judicial custody, while Sombir was sent to 6-day police remand.
