The Revenue and Disaster Management Department has reduced the duty levied on the exchange of agricultural land subject to the condition that the land should be in the same revenue estate.

A notification in this regard was issued on Friday. Now, nominal duty at the rate of Rs 5,000 per registration deed would be charged.

A department spokesperson said agricultural or cultivated land, as defined in para 259 of the Punjab Settlement Manual, comprises Barani, Sailab, Abi, Nahri and Chahi lands. — TNS
