The Public Health Engineering Minister, Banwari Lal, on Sunday ordered the suspension of District Elementary Education Officer of Hisar Nirmal Dahiya. She was suspended after employees of the District Elementary Education Department filed a harassment complaint against him.

The minister issued the orders during the monthly meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievances Committee here on Sunday.

The employees lodged a complaint against the officer stating that she was “harassing” them on one pretext or another. Thereafter, Banwari Lal immediately ordered her suspension and told officials to transfer her from Hisar.

At the meeting, 17 complaints were taken up and necessary directions were given to the officers concerned to resolve these.

Before the meeting, the minister laid the foundation stones for projects to improve the water supply in various villages of the district and widening of 12 roads with a total length of 23.985 km.

During the meeting, the minister listened to the grievances of the residents.

Ran Singh, a resident of Shikarpur village, told the minister that the depot holder never comes to the village for ration distribution.

He said, “The person running the depot only comes at the end of the month for one or two days and always cites problems like machine malfunction and a shortage of ration. Thereafter, the minister directed the Hisar SDM to form a committee to investigate the matter.”

Similarly, a person apprised the minister of illegal occupation of government land between Sisai Bridge on Hansi Main Road and Nehru College. Thereafter, the minister directed the officers concerned to immediately remove the encroachment.

On the occasion, Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Ranbir Gangwa, MLAs Vinod Bhayana, and Jogi Ram Sihag, Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya and officials of the district administration were present.
