Enraged over the non-disbursement of the salary for four months to staff members, the employees of Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya (BPSMV) at Khanpur Kalan decided to organise a one-hour protest on a daily basis at the main entry gate of the university, till their salary was released.

The employees decided it at a meeting held on Thursday in the university and constituted ‘BPSMV Karamchari Sangharsh Samiti’ to fight for their rights and submitted a memorandum to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sudesh, for the disbursement of their salary at the earliest.

Dr Rajesh will be the president of the samiti, while Dr Suman will be the general secretary of the samiti while Priyanka, Surender Mor, Krishan Kumar, Rampal, Ashok Verma, Vijay Kumar, Pankaj Mishra, Dr Vinod Saroha, Dr Suman Ranga, Vikas, and Rekha will be the office-bearers of the Samiti.

The samiti members said the employees had staged a symbolic dharna on October 28 for their pending salary at the main gate of the university, and the Vice-Chancellor had assured the employees that the salary would be disbursed within 10 days.

The Finance Department had granted Rs 35 crore funds to the Directorate of Higher Education on October 31, but still the university had not received the funds, due to which they had not got the salary so far, the samiti members said.

On Thursday, the samiti members submitted a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor and demanded that their salary be disbursed at the earliest. The members also said in the memorandum that all staff members, including 800 teaching and non-teaching employees, were forced to face problems due to the financial crunch. The non-disbursement of the salaries has put them in a financial crisis.

The samiti members said the protest would be organised peacefully for the demand of salary and also warned that the university administration would be responsible for all untoward incidents with any employee.
