Thought-provoking Opinions, Expert Analysis, In-depth Insights and other Member Only BenefitsEnraged over the alleged illegal demolition of a wall and shed of a factory — reportedly to ‘facilitate’ some landowners by the MC — members of various industrial associations met MLA Pramod Vij at his residence and demanded strict action.
They alleged that the demolition was done to widen the street to facilitate property owners who had recently purchased 7,000-sqm land to develop a colony. They said the game was played by a ruling party leader who was a silent partner in the land deal.
The industrialists, including Vinod Khandelwal, Chairman, Haryana Chamber of Commerce and Industries, met the MLA and demanded action against MC officials.
Dr Pankaj Yadav, MC Commissioner, said notices had been served on the factory owner, but he did not reply. The unit owners brought their documents after the demolition, he said, adding “I have asked them to bring all valid registration documents so that proper measurement can be done.”
