Managing Director of Hafed Mukul Kumar today inspected the wheat procurement at Thanesar and Pipli grain markets and directed the officials to focus on timely lifting of the stocks.

He also interacted with commission agents and farmers, took their feedback related to lifting and wheat purchase, and also issued directions to the officers.

Kumar said strict action would be taken against officials for negligence in the procurement. He further asked the officials to ensure timely lifting of the procured produce so that farmers and commission agents didn't face any inconvenience.

He also directed market committee officials to ensure clean drinking water, sanitation and other basic facilities for the farmers and labourers.

The MD checked the gate passes, procurement, weighing machine, moisture content and directed the officials of the procurement agencies to ensure procurement process in a smooth manner.

He said: “Instructions have been given to officials to focus on lifting. Extensive management and proper arrangements have been made for the procurement season. There are clear directions from Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini to the officials to ensure smooth procurement process. The government has made arrangements to buy every grain of the farmers' produce.”
