Every vote counts: Nominees give their all to turn tide

Candidates testing their fate in the Assembly elections made last-ditch efforts to woo voters by holding roadshows and public meetings during quick tours to various segments to mark their presence on Thursday.

The party candidates and campaigners made appeals to the voters to support them and assured development of the Assembly segments. Party workers carrying election symbol of the party visited the residential and market areas to make appeals to the voters.

In Ambala City, former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur said ‘Dalal’ and ‘Damad’ used to run the government during Hooda’s regime in Haryana.

Anurag Thakur, while seeking votes for Aseem Goel, said, “The BJP government has initiated several policies in favour of farmers. The Congress was misguiding the farmers. The lands of farmers were grabbed and atrocities were committed against Dalits during the Congress rule. Bhupinder Singh Hooda did nothing to get the Swaminathan Report implemented during the Congress rule. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants India to be drug free, the leaders of Congress party are found linked with drugs dealers. While during the BJP’s rule in Haryana jobs were given on merit, the Congress candidates are discussing about their quotas in jobs.”

Earlier, Aseem Goel took out a Vikas Yatra in the market areas of Ambala City to show his strength. Former Haryana Home Minister and Ambala Cantonment candidate Anil Vij, Independent candidate Chitra Sarwara and Congress candidate Parvinder Singh, also visited the market areas with their supporters made appeals to the voters.

In Thanesar, Congress candidate Ashok Arora, sitting atop an e-rickshaw, also took out a roadshow in the city area and urged the voters to vote for the Congress.

Ashok Arora, said, “The BJP has failed to fulfil its promises and this election is a turning point for me and the people of Haryana. I urge you to give me an opportunity and the Congress party and we will resolve the long pending issues of the people of Haryana. The time has come to teach the BJP a lesson for its wrong policies and harassment.” Haryana CM and BJP Candidate from the Ladwa Assembly segment Nayab Singh Saini also appealed to the voters to vote for the BJP.
