Former Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta held a meeting with party workers and leaders at the party’s district office ‘Karna Kamal’ in Sector-9 on Sunday, where he sought suggestions from mandal presidents for the selection of the district BJP president. As many as 30 leaders have applied for the post of district president.

Gupta made it clear that he would send the suggestions with their feedback to the party leadership, which will announce the name of the district president on Monday.

“The appointment of district presidents across the state will take place on Monday. All organisational procedures for this process have been completed,” said Gupta while interacting with mediapersons.

He said that the deadline for district president nominations was till Sunday afternoon and a total of 30 BJP workers and leaders from Karnal district have submitted their nominations. Among them, 15 are from Karnal Assembly segment, one from Gharaunda, seven from Nilokheri, four from Assandh and three from Indri. District officiating president Brij Gupta welcomed him at the party office.
